Ozbolat is a Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics Department, Biomedical Engineering Department, and Neurosurgery Department and a faculty member of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, Materials Research Institute, and Center for Neural Engineering at Penn State. Dr. Ozbolat's major research is in the areas of bioprinting and tissue engineering. His research has been widely published, received various awards, and has been featured in national and international media and press numerous times. He has delivered over 100 invited talks and keynotes at national and international forums and conferences. His technology spun off two start-up companies and he is an advisory board member for multiple leading companies in bioprinting.
